RELATIONSHIPS, MARRIAGE, AND MORE

There have been some things on my mind about relationships, marriage, and other important topics that I've observed recently and over time. I want to share them with you today. As always, I invite you to share your thoughts in the comment section here on the blog or at COAFW on Facebook

THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS...

-Relationships and marriage start to look a bit different as you mature. The thought process changes, expectations change, what you will and will not put up with changes.

-It seems as if the younger generation doesn't have a grasp on HOW to have relationships. A lot, if not most things for them, are heavily influenced by social media and that seems to be their source. Social media is not the only influence, but I think is one of the biggest influences.

-I'm realizing more and more that for some in the younger generation, they are missing a godly standard and their standard is set by what this world or society says.

-I believe the conversation about relationships needs to change for the younger  generation.

-What does being single look like after 35?

-What kind of conversations are we having about relationships after 35?

-How do we deal with the desire for marriage as we mature, when marriage has not happened for us yet?

-What life goals are we pursuing?

-Do we think it's "too late" to pursue our dreams?

-Do we think we've missed the opportunity to pursue our dreams?

-How are we talking to ourselves? Are we affirming ourselves or being too hard on ourselves for not fulfilling certain expectations (i.e. personal goals, our relationship with God, our jobs/careers, etc...)?

-Are there enough, or any circles, whether online or in person, for the mature woman to have discussions about relationships and other relevant topics associated with our lives at this point?

-Are we allowing this world and its standard to take precedence over God's standards for our lives?

-Do we recognize hindrances when they come in our lives? How do we deal with them?

-How do we define success, personally, for ourselves?

These are just a few things that have been on my mind lately and things that I've thought about at some point. I would love to hear your own thoughts about whatever has been on your mind. Share them here in the comment section or at COAFW on Facebook
